Jet Fuel Supply Agreement

“We recognize the important role FAS must play in reducing aviation`s greenhouse gas emissions, both in the short term and in the long term. Thanks to this new collaboration, we are allowing SAF to be delivered to Asia for the first time. We are a great honor to work with ANA and help it achieve its ambitious sustainable development goals,” said Thorsten Lange, Executive Vice President of Neste, Renewable Aviation.¬†ANA is proud of its leadership and has proven to be the industry leader in sustainability, and this agreement with Neste also shows that we are able to serve passengers while reducing our carbon footprint,” said Yutaka Ito, ANA`s Executive Vice President, which oversees procurement. “While COVID-19 has forced us to make adjustments, we remain committed to achieving our sustainable development goals. We recognize that preserving our environment requires humanity to work together to achieve a common goal, and we are proud to do our part to protect our common home. (EET) In a step that expects airlines to increasingly want to reduce emissions, Neste and Shell Aviation have entered into a Sustainable Aviation Fuel Delivery Contract (FAS). This agreement significantly increases the supply and availability of SAF for the aviation industry from October 2020. It combines Neste`s know-how in the production and supply of renewable diesel and SAF with shell Aviations leading references in the supply and management of fuels all over the world. ANA and Neste plan to extend cooperation after 2023 on the basis of a multi-year contract. Neste currently has an annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel.

With the expansion of the Singapore refinery and possible additional investments in the Rotterdam refinery, Neste will be able to produce approximately 1.5 million Tpy SAFs by 2023. “The aviation industry is essential to global activity, which generates growth and facilitates economic recovery. It also allows people to travel and transport goods around the world quickly. But if we want to tackle air transport emissions, we need to use all available solutions. Saf offers the only viable alternative to liquid fossil fuels for the supply of electricity to commercial aircraft, with the immediate potential to reduce aviation greenhouse gas emissions. We are committed to supporting the aviation industry, its customers and businesses in their emissions reduction goals,” said Thorsten Lange, Executive Vice President Renewable Aviation at Neste.
